Resting in the idyllic and unspoiled rural landscapes of South West Cheshire; The Sandstone is a country pub and restaurant on the Sandstone Trail surrounded by magnificent views and spectacular countryside.
We offer a friendly and relaxing experience for you to drink, dine or unwind. We serve real cask ales from local micro breweries, fine wines, and an eclectic menu of luxurious homemade food freshly prepared from locally sourced ingredients.
The Sandstone provides a romantic night out for couples; and we cater for group bookings and large events, such as birthdays. The Sandstone Restaurant is well situated for walking the Sandstone Trail. During the day you're welcome to leave your car in our car park and take a stroll along the Cheshire Sandstone Trail before returning to us for lunch and refreshments.
The Sandstone Pub and Restaurant dates back to the 17th Century when it was known as The Royal Oak Pub. It was later renamed The Coppermine Pub due to the number of local quarries, and contained memorabilia relating to mining. In early 2009 the pub was lovingly renovated to a cosy and warm finish, and renamed The Sandstone.
