A hidden gem tucked at the foot of Skiddaw in the unspoilt village of Bassenthwaite, close to Bassenthwaite Lake. A former farmhouse, complete with original beams and open fires, we offer excellent homecooked food and puddings by our chefs.

From the first coffee of the day to last orders, our doors are open. Whether you’re joining us after a walk in the valley, meeting friends for lunch, or settling in for dinner in the restaurant - food and drink are served all day.

The Crown is set within the Heaton Mersey conservation area and was originally a row of cottages which in 1929 were transformed into a pub by Robinsons Brewery.
