One of Manchester's hidden Gems. Umami is a great noodle bar restaurant. Can be difficult to find at first but basically located next to Aquatics Centre underneath the flight centre and Subway. Entrances are either on the side of the car park or on oxford road. Simple description: imagine wagamama but better food, better service, better decor and better prices. Has an extensive menu covering delicacies from Japanese, Thai and Chinese cuisine. Also a good choice of vegetarian dishes. Personal favourites are soy chicken wings for starters and the steak soup ramen or chicken Thai green curry for the mains. Express lunch menu (2 courses) for £4.95 between 12-3pm is an absolute bargain. Discounts available for students and NHS Staff - 20% off all food & drink from my understanding. Food is fantastic, I am a regular and recommend anyone to try at least once. Once you have tried the food, you will be visiting again.
