I cant believe what people are writing about Pino's. Ive been eating there for 12 years, the food is great, just plain, simple, no-fuss, Italian food (I have Italian friends, and Ive been a chef, I know my food). Its small and cosy (which I some people may not appreciate). And as for people saying Pino is grumpy and scowls, where were they looking. Pino is a total character, always friendly, very funny and has a great rapport with his staff. Although they do tend to hire local teenagers as waiting staff, who can occasionally not be the 'smiliest' of people. But I think the main thing to say about Don Pino's is that despite all the resteraunts opening in Stockton Heath including big chains and the famous 101, it is still in business and very full at weekends. If people think supermarkets can provide a better Italian they'll have a real shock if they ever visit Italy.

Service was nowhere near as bad as others have said.
Minestrone soup was good.
However the pizza was indeed the worst I have tasted in a restaurant. The base was a solid disc with reformed "meat" and cheese lumped on top. Could not be finished.
My girlfriend's pasta was apparently quite tasty so if you stick to soup and pasta you may be ok.
