About The Rams Head
An old 18th Century Coaching House which served the ever-busy A6 when it was the the main travel way to London by Horse and Carriage. After many refurbishments over the years it has been lovingly restored with many of its original features into a warm and welcoming, non-smoking, restaurant.
All food is prepared freshly every day, from Spicy Red Pepper and Tomato soup, to the Ram's Legendary Fish Pie. The corporate-ness of previous ownership has been done away with; there are no posters, promotions or logos to be seen, just traditional food with friendly service. The garden to the rear is laid for dining and gets very busy on hot sunny weekends. Although there is no Children's menu, children are permitted to dine but must be well-behaved.
New: Food served all-day everyday from 12noon until 10pm. No need to book, just come down when you are ready, although if you have accessibility requirements please call ahead of your visit so we can accommodate you more comfortably. Large parties of 8 or more are welcome, but please call ahead with regards to our policy on large tables.
