DoubleTree by Hilton is set to open in November 2013 with television and local star Simon Rimmer holding the fort with a new restaurant named Layla.

This luxury four-star hotel boasts a central location in Liverpool city centre. The Grade II-listed building, which was formerly the Municipal Annexe on the corner of Sir Thomas and Dale Street, will be unique to the city when it opens in later this year.

It offers unrivalled grandeur from when it was first constructed in 1865 and will retain its architecturally significant features. The hotel will feature 87 opulent bedrooms, a luxurious spa, swimming pool and relaxation zone, as well as a restaurant, residents' lounge and a bar. It will also offer exclusive wedding, conference and events facilities.
