Great Gatsby Comes to The Lowry Hotel for a Roaring Christmas!
The 5-star Lowry Hotel has launched its Christmas festivities with a glittering 1920s theme, including two chances to win tables for 10 with speakeasy themed competitions.
For 2017 the Lowry Hotel has launched two chances to win on social media. First up head over to Twitter or Facebook and #LowryXmasParty tagging who entrants would like to bring to a Lowry Christmas event and what entrants mobster names would be for a chance to win a festive lunch, dinner or seasonal afternoon tea for 10.
The second chance to win using the same hashtag requires entrants to post a picture in your mobster get up to Facebook or Twitter for a chance to win a table of 10 at one of the speakeasy themed Party Nights.
The Lowry Hotel wants guests to celebrate the festive season in speakeasy style and channel their inner Daisy Buchannan or Jay Gatsby as the Lowry Hotel provides a menu of festive treats.
Taking the stress away from planning a work Christmas party, guests can Charleston over to one of the Lowry Hotel Party nights. Set to take place over 9 separate dates, the Lowry Hotel welcomes guests to a night of festive fun, cocktails, and entertainment. A three-course meal plus a wine reception will take place from the 30th November onwards, giving attendees the opportunity to eat drink and be merry with dancing until 1am.
For a more exclusive Christmas party the Lowry Hotel private dining room, which holds up to 22 guests, will be available for a seasonal 3 course meal, plus canapes and pre-dinner drinks available in the library.
In addition to Party Nights the River bar and double AA rosette River Restaurant will be launching their Christmas menu, set to keep visitors warm on those cold winter nights with festive cocktails and locally sourced yule-tide dishes, such as a traditional Christmas lunch.
The Lowry Hotels famous Christmas afternoon tea also offers a welcome break from holiday shopping, with a sparkling champagne option available.
For guests joining the hotel over the Christmas weekend, a Christmas Eve buffet supper will be available at the River Restaurant. On the big day itself, The River Restaurants welcomes guests to a 4-course meal in decorative surroundings with dining options for the whole family. If guests still have room for another feast, a seasonal special Sunday lunch will be available on Boxing Day afternoon.
The festive season is finally wrapped up on New Years Eve for a night of 1920s glamour. Bring in the New Year with a Gala night in the River Restaurant or enjoy Cocktails and light bites in The River Bar. Wherever you chose to be, the Lowry Hotel will ensure party goers have a glass of Champagne in hand when the clock strikes midnight.

Executive Chef Dave Ashton’s menu uses the best local and seasonal produce that the hotel is famous for and creating classic British dishes to a high standard. His favourite starters include pan fried scallops with scallop ceviche, peanut, lime and avocado and A5 Wagyu beef with celeriac remoulade, ponzu and wasabi dressing. Mains include wild line caught sea bass with cockle minestrone, courgette and basil puree. The bar and restaurant at The Lowry Hotel provide the perfect place to relax and enjoy good food and drink, offering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner on a daily basis, with a great Chefs Choice Menu offering 2 courses for £19.95 and three courses for £24.95 and a three course Sunday lunch for £22.50. Our Afternoon Tea is available for £22.50 per person or upgrade to our Champagne Afternoon Tea for £33.00.
On Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons you will also be entertained with live pianist and singer Kimm.
The River Bar and Restaurant as you know it will be closing in July but don’t worry, we will be back in September with a brand-new restaurant and bar, during this time we will be serving, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner in our grand ballroom during this period.
