I love a good pub. My tastes are fairly simple, as long as the beer is good, the food is filling and the other clientèle aren't track-suited morons, i'm fairly happy. My family and I found all this and more at the Wheatsheaf. Whilst I cannot credit the owners for the weather which was stunningly hot, The well presented gardens with clean outside benches made for an excellent place for a couple of pints. As one or two plates of food got carried past, we decided to stay for a bite to eat as it smelled and looked like classic pub fayre. I opted for the burger (I always do) and it arrived fairly quickly, loaded with mushrooms, bacon and cheese and was quite simply sublime. My other half had the fish and chips which were also well presented and received a thumbs up. Well worth a visit.
