A friend and i were in Rusholme yesterday (neither of us had been there for a couple of years) and we wanted something to eat. We found the Islamabad Grill, an Asian restaurant that had an 'eat as much as you like buffet' (£5+ before 5pm and £8+ thereafter). The decor was plain but decent so we thought we would give it a go. The staff were friendly enough. All in all, we expected to have an average Indian/Asian meal. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. The salads and pickles etc were so good that we probably ate too much of them with popadoms. When we felt ready to tackle the main courses, we found about eight different curries and the most delicious pilau rice. I had a little of three of the curries: an okra curry, a daal and chicken karahi (the chicken was on the bone). They were all completely yummy. We were also offered naan bread that they heated for us. We were too full for dessert and i'm not sure what was available. They don't serve alcohol but don't mind if you bring your own. I would definitely recommend the Islamabad Grill to anyone who doesn't require plush interiors and likes good Indian/Asian food.
