About Cross Foxes

Fantastic British pub located in idyllic setting on the river bank. Serving great classic British dishes and blackboard specials.

This is a local's local. Often you can come here on a sunny evening, sit in the conservatory looking up the river, and watch the fishermen in their waders casting flies for salmon. If you wanted to show an American friend a classic British pub, this would fit the bill nicely.

Love this place, my fav restaurant. A very rustic feel. Food always well presented and tasty, it has been cared for well. Quite pricey, but that is because of the quality. Staff excellent, I always feel welcome. Would definitely recommend Cross Foxes.

Enjoyed an excellent roast pork dinner followed by a light and fluffy sticky toffee pudding. Others in the group thought the fish and chips were brilliant - could not be faulted. The menu was a delight to study - all food is locally sourced and cooked to order. If room permitted I would have attempted the cheeseboard - 5 local cheeses with side accompanyments but too full after the main course to do this justice. The weather permitetd us to sit outside and enjoy a pre-lunch drink. There were planty of tables for those who like to dine al-fresco with glorious views of the River Dee. For the non-drivers 5 real ales were on offer plus ciders, suppported by a comprehensive and well priced wine list. Service was quick and efficent but all food is ordered at the bar - pay on departure. Highly recommended - but don't be the one who has the car keys.
