This place was a great find for my family. I live in Lancs & my family are from Powys so we try to find somewhere half way to meet up. This place met that criteria, but i'd go there for a ride out anyhow!!! A British pub at its best. I'm fed up of gastro pubs, which never really cater for the kids & chain pubs that are all microwaved food. This place served good old traditional pub food, the cod + chips was the best I've had for years. My husbands steak was cooked to perfection, + he loved the choice of real ales, as did my dad. Its in the country 200 yards off the A49 warrington road, down a lane. You have to cross a foot bridge over the canal. Its right by a working lock , + you can watch the boats go by. The day we went was a beautiful sunny autumn day - PERFECT
