Just been taken over again, and seems like at last someone has at last some idea of how to run a pub, this pub has it's highs and lows the very low being the last 18 months or so. But now as of June 2012 things are looking up again, full pub, very nice staff and an impressive and very well cooked menu. So summer in the George is at last something to look forward to again..

Consistently brilliant in every way! Have eaten here half a dozen times in the last 12 months - probably the best pub grub I have ever had. Food is always unsurpassed. Piping hot, great variety, always cooked to perfection. The homemade scotch eggs, pies, sausage rolls etc are all superb. The ales are always very well kept and there is a great selection of wine. Staff always friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is always a happy blend of locals enjoying a pint and diners enjoying restaurant-quality food in a very relaxed setting. If you have been impressed by the Met in West Dids or the H&J in Chorlton Green, you'll be impressed with the King George. Altrincham's best kept secret! And they even have a dart board! Happy days!

We visited the pub on a Wednesday evening and we were extremely impressed with the level of service and the quality of the food. I had the Scotch Egg to start which was fantastic although too big for me as a starter! I then followed with the steak which was perfectly cooked and extremely tender. All in all an extremely good meal at very reasonable prices. The house wine isn't bad either!
