Tuesday 3 course evening meal with free bottle of wine - Cabernet Sauvignon - normally £14.00. Beautifully presented tasty food which proved good value. Well worth a visit. Large room, not over personal but low lighting provides ambiance.

I have eaten here a few times now and have never been disappointed. The service is always superb and the staff always pleasant and eager to please. We recently booked a table to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday and were given a table in the function room on one of their Christmas party nights. We had a fantastic night. The staff coped admirably with several large tables, and the food was superb, as usual. As the night wore on, the guests present became rowdier and louder; our table included, as the disco began and dancing commenced. The staff maintained their professional and pleasant attitude and we were very impressed. They all looked after us extremely well, and we would like to thank Lucy, Becky, Scott, Carrie and Ali, for a wonderful night. They were fantastic and I apologise if I've missed anyone's name - you were all great.

We spent a sneaky night away just after New Year at the Holiday Inn Express Hoylake without intending to use the restaurant, having been somewhat "underwhelmed" by the Frankie's experience in the past. Not so at Kings Gap, after a change of plan we enjoyed a fantastic meal, in a great atmosphere with super service from Richard at the bar and the girls in the restaurant, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend the Rib Eye Steak and the Chicken. Great value, great food, great service, great excuse to go to Hoylake
