Nov 2015. The Shady Oak is now under New Management and has had a complete facelift. We are open 7 days week and serve real ale/good home-cooked food and a Sunday Carvery.

This pub is now under new management, which is striving to depart from the recent past's up-market dining image and restore the place as the traditional country pub catering for walkers and boaters it used to be several years ago. We stopped for lunch today (19/07/2012) and enjoyed a warm welcome, good service, and well cooked and presented pub grub which was very reasonably priced. The situation is idyllic, looking over the Shropshire Union Canal and the passing boats, and both Beeston and Peckforton castles,with lots of country walks nearby. We suggest that everyone interested in preserving the great British pub goes along and helps to ensure this one survives!

Turned up to a lovely pub on a canal, very warm and inviting inside. The staff were very pleasant and the meals were perfect. Very reasonable prices to. Went 29/6/09 and will be returning very soon!!
