About Green Dragon

The Green Dragon is well known and across Cheshire as a fine country pub, famous for great food, wine and award winning Cask Ales. We are close to the River Bolin a placid tributary of the River Mersey. Peter and the team provide the warmest of greetings with roaring log fires throughout the winter, with relaxed al – fresco dining throughout the summer.

The pub prides itself on its values, offering all guests a wonderful choice of food, from the more traditional range to fantastic summer salads and more modern dishes to appeal to everybody. Generous not mean, and attractive not pretentious are some of the hallmarks that this pub offers its guests. We offer a diverse wine list, which are all available by the glass, award winning cask ales.

Myself, family and friends used to frequently dine at The Green Dragon, Lymm when it was run by Stuart who was an excellent host and who kept the place immaculate whilst giving it an air of a beautiful independent Country Inn, plus the food was second to none whilst Stuart ran the place. Then Stuart left and The Green Dragon never seem the same after that so we stopped going. The Green Dragon apparently had further problems with the electrics and closed down for a while but has now re-opened and we had the opportunity to try it out again under new management. Whilst my wife and I were in Lymm one day early in September, Gavin (the new Manager) invited us to have a meal at the Green Dragon and we took up the invitation booking in for 10th September at 1pm. Firstly, I would like to say that Gavin came across as a very likeable person and that his personality is on a par with that of the earlier manager Stuart. Some of the staff were originally there from Stuart's day too which was good as they have always been excellent, on this occassion we had a new member of staff Talia Finnigan who was also excellent. We have come with family and friends and we all had different meals which we enjoyed along with good wine amd other drinks. The Inn's atmosphere is very enticing and we would dine there again in the future especially if Gavin and the staff continue to make it as welcoming as it used to be and continue to make it feel more of an independent rather than part of the Vintage Inns chain that it is as this is what made The Green Dragon special back in the days when Stuart had the place and Gavin certainly has the charisma and energy to do this.
