A very good meal. Black pudding croquettes are highly recommended, along with Mussels. For mains I chose the 'Onglet' and my other half the Beer Battered Fish & Chips. Both were excellent. We were with a large group and all comments were very positive. The only collective 'negative' is the cost of drinks - £4.40 for a pint of lager/lager shandy is excessive. Other than that very good.

We have been 3 Fridays running and live just 5 minutes away. Food and value first class - it's the most refined food in the area and the service from a young team is friendly and obliging. Mr Pilling has been on hand and keeps a close and expert eye on things.

visit Saturday 8th May 2010. The interior decor of the Red Lion is undeniably impressive and the service recieved couldn't be faulted. It was a while since we had visited so appreciated the new look Red Lion. Starters of fishcake & the potted shrimps went down very well. My chicken breast main meal was perfect, my husbands meal, fillet of sea bass was also very tasty however it was on the skimpy side, for the price paid for this dish, a few more veg wouldn't have broken the bank.
