Welcome to El Gato Negro, an award-winning tapas restaurant and bar. We've relocated and recently opened our new home in a beautifully-converted historic three storey building on King Street in the heart of city centre Manchester.

Founder and chef patron Simon Shaw creates seasonally-influenced dishes, combining modern and traditional Spanish flavours and techniques while taking inspiration and ingredients from closer to home. Our food is perfectly complemented by a superbly-chosen range of Spanish wines, sherries, spirits, tonics and beers.

Our new home gives us the chance to offer a range of great food, drink and service for customers old and new. Step in off the street for a glass of something, a little casual bar dining and sample charcuterie and cheeses on the ground floor. Fancy making a meal of it? Dine in our first floor restaurant, perhaps overlooking historic King Street or sitting at the chef's table, watching the theatre of your food cooked in front of you in our open kitchen. Or kick back and enjoy some exclusive cocktails with friends in the intimate surrounding of our top floor cocktail lounge, The Black Cat at El Gato Negro, with its unique retractable roof to make the most of the sun and stars when weather permits.
