The pub is run by local publican Ernie Welch, and it his belief that the Old Star should be a comfortable, relaxing environment where friends and families can socalise and enjoy quality drinks, snacks and good company. Food is available from 7:30 in the morning until 3pm and you can order by phone or even from our iPhone app!! Extensive refurbishment has been carried out, and a wood burning stove, stone floors and comfortable seating all have been added to make the Old Star the best place in the area to enjoy a quiet drink, a night out or a birthday or other celebration. Ernie has a love of music, particualrly Irish and regular evenings of entertainment will be on offer to suit all tastes. There will be events and teams for everyone to get involved in, a football team, darts, dominoes, and those who enjoy watching sporting events such as football and rugby will be able to enjoy supporting their teams in the best bar in the town.
