Nestled on the main road between Whaley Bridge and Buxton, this charming stone inn is located in the heart of the Peak District.
The Shady Oak Country Inn was built in 1841. Originally built to house workers in the nearby gunpowder quarry which is now beneath the local reservoir. These days the pub is family run, and offers a relaxed ambience which is well loved by locals and visitors alike.
The warmth of the welcome here is genuine and unpretentious and brings guests back time after time. Situated in the heart of the Peak District, our country inn is the perfect base to tour the area and surrounding villages.
Our open fires and superb views make The Shady Oak a true country pub! Whether you enjoy long walks, breath-taking views, or just a relaxing tipple by the fire, we look forward to welcoming our guests time after time.
